My sweet Grandma Conder passed away unexpectedly on June 8thShe is going to be greatly missed.
To Grandma:
As we look back through years further than we remember
Our loving grandma was there and would be forever
The memories of you are the sweetest and still so clear
The thoughts of your love and adoration for us brings a tear
A story told, a song you shared, a kiss better when we’d fall
You took the time to love us, the most precious thing of all
You made endless time for us all
And always had something for us in the cookie jar
In the kitchen with your apron tied
Happily with any of us children by your side
Jam, canning, or cooking up something
To feed all of our bottomless tummies
The taste of your apricot jam or pistachio salad
The smell of onions or banana bread
All of this while listening to Paul Harvy
Not wanting to miss…the rest of the story
You kept us busy with all you loved to do
Reading, crocheting, camping and fishing too
You liked it best with family all together
And kids under toe
OH TOES…watch out for grandma’s toes!
You tried to teach us all to love the game
The Jazz, Dodgers, little league playoffs, even Utah State
Keeping stats all the way back from the Brooklyn days
You wrote them so small…we were all so amazed
You always said “I love you”
Even if you called us by stinky, or poo-poo
Always asking us “Who put a quarter in you?”
You kept our traditions alive
Even if we ate pizza on Christmas eve night
Christmas was so special as it was your birthday too
Now that we have grown older
We are thankful for your example
Of how to love and be maternal
Your hugs were the BEST – oh they were so tight
You made time for each of us, sleepovers, support or to calm our fright
We all held you dear as our life long friend
You cheered us all on, right until the end
You were so stubborn we thought you would always be around
Though sick for many, many years, you always seemed to come abound
Your spirit so young and strong, but became so weak and frail
Thankful for a loving grandpa that took care of your every detail
We were still so unprepared to loose our loving grandma
It happened all to suddenly and much to our avail
You’ve left us a great legacy
And we will carry it on through eternity
